Our mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to sick children through the gift of a handmade blanket lovingly created by volunteers. We are just six in number but we willingly get together to make a practical gift for children who are sick.
The Hemingby Linus Group meets once a month over a cuppa and a biscuit where we make our “beautiful blankets” for traumatised or seriously ill children. If we were in the USA we would be called “Blanketeers” but we think we’re just “crafty”.
Within our little group we all have different jobs to do e.g. Cutters, Ironers, Pinner’s, Sewers, Checkers, Assemblers, Mixers & Matchers and finally Colour Coordinators. We have a lot of fun and would welcome anyone who would like to join us in our endeavours. You will be welcome even if you just come along for a coffee and a chat among friends.
